John Hampton (son of Thomas, William) purchased, 3 Mar 1674/5, from Richard Cary 196 ¾ acres in Gloucester County adjoining his father's plantation. He married (1) Mary Mann. On 5 Jun 1677 her uncle John Mann conveyed to him 157 acres in consideration of their marriage and on 8 Jun 1677 his father deeded him the 350 acres inherited from William Hampton.
